Of the original SMWK. So simple, not many rules, just a good, fun real time strategy game. To think, if everyone didn't push their luck (what with all the UWMs, artifacts, and the like), we may have still been playing the old way. Truth be told, I like the original ruleset the best. You just need to add coins, since they're kinda necessary. And we didn't have all those classes. Just good old army VS army battles. The way it should be. (I mean, come on, 5 people, or even one person, taking down an army 150,000 strong? I don't care how much you "label" the person as "hero", it can't happen!). Now, this isn't a rant, kinda due to the fact that we will never go back. Just expressing some feelings.

Frankly, I like this version better, as the number of troops earlier was just unrealistic (You can't pack 200,000 troops on one airship). Also, the defense system was flawed, and it just felt like there were too many loose ends. However, I definitely agree about how overpowered heroes have been. But, I made a topic on it a while ago, and I think it's going to stop.

Yea, I agree. You didn't have to have a base destroying weapon; at least, not until everybody else was jumping on the bandwagon.

I agree with everything that has been stated in this topic thus far.

Well, this is a fantasy game. It doesn't exactly have to be realistic. But we could've always just decreased the max. limit of troops on one WM. I honestly hate the number changes, and despite what people say, it doesn't really add any more strategy than 200,000 troops did. Both armies would have close to the same amount anyway, and dividing it by four doesn't do much other than saying: "I can do math, guys!"
Again, sorry if it sounds like a rant. I'm not the type to get into an arguement.

Oh, it doesn't add a huge amount of strategy; however, it makes things much easier to see, and makes casualties make more sense. For example, war machines took too long to make for the number of troops swarming around. Not only is it easier to envision the battles this way, but war machines have a purpose with a lower number of troops.

I agree that number change was pointless, but I like these wars just fine. As well, I feel we should keep going towards the future, and I definitely don't want to see all the other groups vanish. It would make these wars less interesting.

Well, to be honest, I kinda liked to old troop count better, even if it wasn't realistic. I like Bandits and Mercs though.

Wait, if everyone liked the old troop cap why'd we switch it?

Because we wanted to give this way a try.

Hey, look at that, we might actually get something done out of this topic! (The troop numbers are a little hard to work with, I might add. With all the 5s and the odd numbers and such. I <3 zeroes. Plus, we've done it the old count for so long that we had gotten used to that. Plus, it was much easier figuring out when officers would join.)

...Can you folks honestly not do this level of math? It only takes me a moment to do it all in my head, and I'm big on using specific numbers of things. For example, 8 external-day update = 8x4 = 32-internal day update. 32x125 = 4,000 troops. Easy.
