Maybe four project slots (helps a little...) and instead of a second UWM maybe have the civilian bonus as a fifth project slot? I don't know...

Look, a 3000 day Mech vs. 25000 troops and 3000 days' worth of projects, not to mention factories? Easy for the armies to win, and that's only with half troop strength and no hero. Yes, but not ALL units will be able to attack the UBW if it's flying, and I think every UWM thats been made so far can fly. 3,000 days worth of projects, okay. But they are all spread out. You would have to have most of your army all concentrating on it to get the benefit, and having every single one of your men in one place is a bit hard. However with the UBW, all the projects are concetrated on upgrading that. It could easily plow through any force under 10,000 troops. Plus, all the Mech would have to do is a few short raids. It could come to the base, use it's main attack or whatever, fire all it's got, then quickly fly away. It would cause a lot of damage.

Death Drill. Original Wars. Back before we gave it the title "Uber." And it's wrong to criticize the idea because you make the assumption that it HAS to be flying, since most UWMs do.
You're not ALWAYS alone in a battle; you have Allies, don't you? And making up for lack of strength is the purpose of strategy.
I see nothing wrong with doing this. There is no such thing as an unfair strategy, only one that you were utterly unprepared for.

Unless the strategy involves cheating. But that's pretty hard to do in this game, at least to the point that it gets through the mod filter.

Just wondering, but if we could have this class... confirmed and the rules made, etc., by sometime on the weekend, as it'll help determine how my quest goes (kinda...). Cuz' I want to get started on my quest. (I got the first log done already.)

It's the responsibilities of the players to keep an eye on their fellow competitors. How much time does it take to open a logbook page and read five lines of text? Not to mention use OOG knowledge?

For what? I fail to see why they need to know everything about the enemy mech to fight it? So they can beat it before it gets strong? That defeats the purpose of the class!

Also, MegaLegs can't fly. And spread out is a good thing. You have dog-fighter machines, tank machines, AA machines, not to mention boarding troops.

Well, Shadow did make it so that it can fly, but that's not really important.

So, I think that this has caught enough attention for people to vote on... so...
And a reminder, the current winning option for Mechanic's Civilian Bonus is the extra Machine with 4 votes.

From what I heard, you know that each group exists and its general location, but nothing else about it at all. It would be using OOG knowledge to just look at all of the defenses, war machines, troops, items, and so on before you attack somebody and factor all of those into your plans even though you have no idea they have them. If you already do know that, I certainly wasn't informed, and I think the game took a large step in the wrong direction when that rule got passed.

Make a recon plane. Make Radar tower. When big machine shows up, send recon plane. Formulate plans with newly acquired info.
If attacking, send recon plane. Formulate plans with newly acquired info.

So you're also assuming you make no strategy. You can't if it's a surprise attack. Which is what all attacks are, because poeple don't usually tell you that they're going to attack you In-Game. EDIT: Didn't see above post, never mind...

So, is your vote still for "No" then, or did you change your mind?

Didn't you say somewhere you could see what people voted? And I chose no.
