I'm far too tired to argue about it right now, but all I have to say is: For our number of players, we do not need another class, especially another "Small class that causes big damage" as it's like a Bandit group. Also, it's going to be way too hard to deem the strength of the uber war machine fairly; if it's just barely defeated, chances are, the player controlling it will have a hissy fit. It'll have to be completely and obviously outgunned, overpowered, outstrategized, and so on for it to be considered a "Fair defeat". We've already had enough trouble with hero strengths, so why make something that'll be even more vague?

Because we already have things that are vague enough as it is. We have Artifacts that grant wishes and nothing major has happened, so I don't see why a big, concentrated mass of power is bad. We have UWM already, and people have made them into mobile bases in the past even. This is much the same. One person, two big ships, at most. Not that big a deal, really. Treat them much the same way Mercs are, but as a different side of the coin.

New Machine: 3
And WD, we never needed any other class other than an Army, if you think about it. Like Rydon brilliant and simply said, "it's fun." That's what this is all about. If people want to just go crazy with an Uber War Machine and just cause havoc and chaos, I think that they have the right to. The more choices we have, the more creative we can be, the more life will be breathed into the Wars!

I don't really mind. Personally, I think the 1/2 Hero thing would be more useful, since if your Mechanic is killed then you're kinda f*cked, but if people want the extra machine I ain't stoppin them.

Well, the 1/2 hero thing kinda takes away the machine orientation of the class. Plus, the pilot should be inside the Ultimate UWM, so the odds of him/her ending his/her game is slim.

The 1/2 hero thing is more of a 1 time investment, where as the second machine is an ongoing stock.
You can make it a support machine to complement your already awesome UWM, or you could make it just as big, bad, and destructive. That's why I like the second machine thing; it opens more possibilities.

I agree with the Dumple. This will be the same exact situation as in the last wars when no one wanted a Hero to die. And people would be getting them upgraded way past what a Heroes worth is. By the end of these wars there would almost certainly be 3,000 day war machines flying around.
There's nothing else to upgrade, so they would only upgrade their war machines. So say all 5 slots work on a 100 day upgrade. They keep doing this. 200 days, 1,000 day WM. And if anyone gets in a fight with one, no one wants a 1000 day WM crashing into them.
Now, you say that one way to destroy them is at the beggining. Well, from what I've heard so far, no one likes attacking armies (or whatever) right when they just start. But that would be the only way to destroy a mechanic.
And with a 2nd WM it would just be Genocide...

No, you'd split the upgrades. And you assume the other people and armies aren't doing anything while you mindlessly upgrade, which is in fact wrong.

It's the responsibilities of the players to keep an eye on their fellow competitors. How much time does it take to open a logbook page and read five lines of text?

Look, a 3000 day Mech vs. 25000 troops and 3000 days' worth of projects, not to mention factories? Easy for the armies to win, and that's only with half troop strength and no hero.
