My bro plays it nonstop. I don't have the time, though.

You don't need a lot of time. You can do it bit by bit. At the moment I'm on my first fortress. IThe entry to my fortress is a narrow corridor blocked by a door with a couple of stonefall traps in it in case Goblins show up. That leads into the entrance hall, from where you can access: - The main storage room, where food, wood and various useful objects are stored. - The Workshop Room, attached to the Storage Room for easy access to materials. - The Farm room, where delicious Plump Helmets are grown. Also, I just read that cooking destroys their seeds, so I better stop my cook from amking stuff using them > - The communual bedroom, with 8 beds for the dwarves to sleep in. - The dining room/kitchen room, with 5 chairs and tables for my dwarves to sit and eat at. The cook has his kitchen in the corner and a small store of food to cook with. - The stone room, which has a staircase that goes down into the next sublevel. Not much there except a network of tunnels I get stone from. Trying to find some ore too. I keep my stone in this room too.

Yeah, you can do it bit by bit, but that kind of game doesn't appeal to me and I wouldn't have time if I was to add it onto the list of games I play.
