Old. Very old.
Anyway, looks like an alright game overall., but a terrible Banjo Kazooie game. Seeins as they compeltely removed most of the teamwork moves and platforming. I would've rather they made up new characters instead of just tacking Banjo Kazzoie onto a new game, but, eh, whatever.

E3 '08: Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts Updated Hands-On We get our hands on this vehicle editor and test the limits of rational thinking. By Shaun McInnis, GameSpot Posted Jul 14, 2008 12:47 pm PT...Riiiiiiiight. No, they definitely needed to do something new. Platforming does still seem to be there, as I've watched trailers and have seen an even mix of just Banjo and Kazooie running around, and using vehicles. I also saw tightrope walking and some jumping, so platforming has not disappeared. And, frankly, while they were a lot of fun, the moves became forced in Banjo Tooie. The drill ground pound is simply relearning the ground pound because the old one, uh, isn't useful anymore for some reason. And when you have to go through a deep cave in a prehistoric dinosaur world just to have a mole tell you how to put something in an empty backpack, things are definitely going too far. Some are also only usable in certain places, like on a certain pad or whatever. The series needed something new, and it still has a bright, colorful graphic style and similar sound effects that make it look very similar to the original.

what's old is that the game has been known about for probably over a year.
and I liked all of those moves. it added lots of puzzle elements and whatnot.

Yes, I know that it's been known for a year; however, it was this specific hands-on that made me rather interested, because there were also screens and another trailer.

I think that vehicle editing and the like is definately a good idea for an excellent.
But NOT for a Banjo-Kazooie game. Sure, there's still puzzle and platforming, but it's sad to see it ride in the backseat when it's the clever platforming that made the series such a revered videogame staple. What if Nintendo made a first-person shooter game about Mario? It could be as good as Half-Life and be a great game, but it wouldn't feel like a Mario game.

Yes, that's what I meant, layze.
Also, Rare say it has 10% platforming, with most of the moves removed.
Also jesus what's wrong with you Water Dumple. Change does not automatically equal good. The Banjo Kazooie games were great fun. This might be a good game, but it won't be a good BK game.
Also, wtf, the grpahics and sounds did not make the BK series... the gameplay did.

What if Nintendo made a first-person shooter game about Mario? It could be as good as Half-Life and be a great game, but it wouldn't feel like a Mario game. Quite frankly, because of random transformations like the washing machine and SUV from Banjo Tooie, I feel that machines would fit in almost perfectly. The bright, cartoony graphic style and sound effects can very much make it feel like a Banjo Kazooie game. I've replayed both Banjo Kazooie and Banjo Tooie about 10-15 times, and that isn't an exaggeration. The only other games to win that many playthroughs from me are Pikmin 2 and Metoid Prime. I am quite open to another Banjo Kazooie game, and I feel that if they just rehashed the same concept over again, it would feel old, and then you'd see OTHER people whining about how they should have done something new.

Also, wtf, the grpahics and sounds did not make the BK series... the gameplay did. welcome to next-gen land. if you tell an xbox or PS3 fanboy that all the games for said system suck, they'll retaliate with "but the graphics are great!" and they'll never ever give up on that one point. EDIT: and dumple, the thing is, you only spent about 5 minutes each as a washing machine OR a van.

Also, Rare say it has 10% platforming, with most of the moves removed. Fine by me, as they've replaced it with something just as good. It's all opinion, anyway, and you won't be changing mine. I'm disagreeing with you and you don't like it, that's all that's wrong with me. You misunderstand what I mean. While change does not always make a good game, or a good (Insert franchise) game, if a company will step up, face the whiny purists, and try something new, it's worth lauding. And besides, you've got a chance to get a Metroid Prime when you step up and give something new a try, if you know what I mean. The way I see it, even if a unique change was added that didn't work out, it's good that they tried. I disagree. While gameplay makes an actual game, graphics and sounds and all that make it a Banjo Kazooie game. Gameplay does put a lot into that, but I feel that a Mario game with blood and gore, even if the gameplay was the exact same, would not be a Mario game. Same with a lot of other franchises. Also, forget it, I feel like an idiot arguing over a game that hasn't come out yet. Did any of you even read the whole article or look at the trailers?

Water Dumple, I'm not saying it won't be a good game. It could be. What I'm saying is it won't be a good Banjo Kazooie game. Because it can't be. It's about vechicles, not about platforming. Personally, I blame the userbase of the Xbox 360 for that, but that's a different story all together.
