...when this place dies.
seriously, we all know it's only a matter of time before this place dies completely. more and more people are quitting/leaving, and it's just not fun. however, I think we've all gotten to know each other pretty well, considering this is just a text-based game, so I think we should have some reliable method of somehow keeping in touch when this place is gone.
any suggestions?

Pikmin wars isn't dying. Maybe some people could join that.

But some people don't want to join that. Other than sharing e-mail adresses with the people we want to stay in touch with, there's not much else we could/need to do. Maybe we could all try to join a larger, more stable forum (most likely the new Nintendo forum, when it's up). Or I guess people could leave websites which they could be found at.

The problem is some people may leave those either, or something bad could happen to them, like they get hacked. I like the second suggestion, as the first isn't quite as good sometimes.

So, what we do is... make The Wars bigger? Maybe all the new changes didn't help much.

I realized all the changes weren't necessary to begin with. It seemed completely pointless to me.
As well, you are very rude. You act as though anything in life is definite. Nothing is.

NSider is coming back? I hope so, anyhow. As for this topic, The Wars are doing fine, only SMKW isn't, and I think it's because most of us are just sick of Mario, in terms of this game. We've been through four versions (I'm counting version 2 because there were different armies in it than the later versions), and I think we're just bored of it. But The Wars still feels fresh to us, or so it seems, because we can be whatever we want. If those that aren't on other forums I visit still want to contact me for some strange reason, my public email address is giant_breadbug@hotmail.com.

They got alot of people angry when they first took it down, and they've always hinted at how they'd eventually get a new site up. Honestly, it was a mistake to take it down in the first place, but not putting a new one up would just "add salt to their wound".

Actually, from what I heard from C77, one of my old friends there (I lost about ten when it closed), NOA_ANDY was apparently forced to sign some kind of contract. Also, perhaps there was something wrong with Lithium Technologies, which made the software for the site. I don't know the details, but I don't think it was entirely desired on the administrators' part. Oh well, if it does come back, hopefully they'll crack down on the stupid spammers in the Power On board. >_>

I wrote this to someone a while ago, I'll just copy/paste it. Basically, it's why NS2 is there.
NSider 2 was a cheap knock-off made after the demise of the first. See, the head aministrator, EJ Raven, is this idiotic, money-obsessed would-be-censored-so-I-won't-say-it. He made NSider 2 just for money--He wasn't even a member of the first one! Then, there was a much more reasonable NSider replacement known simply as "The NSider Forums". It was made by a group of members from the original. Although it, sadly, is loaded with perverts and undesirables, it has stuff like chess and the NFES, or Nintendo Forum Entertainment System, full of NES games to play.
But, as for EJ Raven, the worst blow was when he bribed the head administrator of NFS $1,000 to give him the domain, just so he could get more members for NS2 and end the competition. Of course, a replacement was made and all the members came back to NSF, so he really just blew $1,000 and exposed the head administrator of NSF to also be an idiot. Nonetheless, it was sickening and all these events took place before my very eyes--Or, to be accurate, I was only a few hours late to the incidents, which in forum terms is pretty close to actually seeing stuff happen. So, NS2 is basically just a poor replica. And while NSF doesn't try to conceal a truth underneath its surface, and is basically just a forum, it's still loaded with perverts and whatnot. I was a member, but I left in the end. It's disappointing what happened to NSider when Nintendo closed it, which is why I'm hoping they'll make another forum.
