Whogabooga. I think that if people want to make SMKW into Nintendo Wars, I think that'd be just fine. The Wars would be everything non-Nintendo, and everyone would be happy. Either way, I'm still gonna be the X-Nauts. >_> Sounds great. We oughta make a poll with something like...three options. One for keeping it the same, another for this, and a third for the other idea I can't remember.

I say that we change mario wars into nintendo wars, and have The Leigon be an event. A long lasting event. Maybe more events while it's going on, but an event nonetheless.

Well, (I think) the idea for the Legion came from the Original Wars when Petey made a massive army called "Booster's Battallion" invade the Mushroom Kingdom. The point of it then was to make some action in the game, since tangled alliance webs made everyone too fearful to attack anyone else without every member in the game coming down on them.
Now, we've eliminated tangled alliance webs, and the Wars are pretty active, so there's no real need to have a massive Army that would wield no prizes if defeated.

Well, here's one more idea I have that I personally would like, but I'm not going to get in a big ol' debate if it's not immediately accepted.
I think a version of the game in which we have single, more defined units would be nice. Now, I'm not saying that we should switch the other versions, but this is an idea for a different game we could try. In a way, it's like Advance Battalion Wars (Although I'm not trying to turn this game into that one).
So, what I mean by "Defined" units is, we don't use really high numbers of troops and realistically-sized armies and such. Instead, we have single units that are generally good on specific things; for example, let's say I was using a Battalion Wars army. If I had a Bazooka Vet, he would be good on armored vehicles, but his shots would be easily dodged by infantry. Now, I couldn't just get random troops every day; I'd need a project for every unit. So, we would make unit-producing facilities that would, over a certain number of days for each one, get us a unit. For example, if I built a Barracks, it could get me a Bazooka Vet every 8 internal days, or any other type of infantry for however long I would want it to take. Or if I had a Dock, I could have it make a Frigate every 35 days. This Frigate could be good on subs and aircraft, but weak elsewhere. And, of course, this Dock wouldn't be just restricted to making Frigates, it would just only be able to make one ship at a time.
See what I mean? Basically, units would be good on other types of units, but weak on others, and so on. They would also be individually good--You wouldn't fight with hundreds or thousands, you would fight with maybe ten units at a time. Now, obviously this a very simple overview of it, there could be many other complications and/or specifics, I'm just wondering how it would go over.

Isn't that what we have already? That's why we make all the different variety of troops; to tackle different obstacles... I don't see too many battle plans with Flamethrower units attacking Tanks.

No, the point is to have units be made individually, and have their strengths and weaknesses more carefully outlined. It's not that defined in SMKW and The Wars, really; it's mostly just set at attack power, defense, speed, abilities, and such. It's not exactly X counters Y counters Z counters X, if you know what I mean.

Why make factories to get troops? Can't we just gain troops normally and strategically distribute our new troops to best fit the challenges we may fit in the future?
If you only get melee troops, you'll be shit out of luck when your enemy brings in jets. That's why you get flying troops.

Because then you have to balance what facilities you donate to infantry, vehicles, aircraft, ships, and such. See what I mean? It's more strategic that way; and, of course, we'll need to find ways of making each group balanced and have some form of special use so you can't win just by spamming tanks, AA vehicles and artillery. Perhaps infantry could detonate or capture enemy facilities.
Anyhow, there are plenty of ways to balance it; but just getting free troops constantly will make it too similar to this, I feel. It also makes infantry just like they are in this game: Too expendable. I'm talking about having a soldier take 4 days out of a facility to get--Not the thousands every update we've had in the past.
